“UK Travel Ban to UAE Lifted Amid Middle East Tensions”

The travel ban to the United Arab Emirates imposed by the Foreign Office has been lifted. Since March, the FCDO had advised against non-essential travel to the UAE due to conflicts in the Middle East. However, as of Thursday, June 18, the travel advisory has been updated, no longer discouraging travel to the region.

Despite this change, the government still issues a caution to British citizens regarding ‘regional tensions.’ They highlight a recent memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran concerning Middle East conflicts, emphasizing the unpredictability of the situation and the potential for sudden attacks to resume.

In light of the situation, British nationals are advised to remain vigilant. Prior to the ceasefire on April 8, the Iranian regime had expressed intentions to target US and Israeli-affiliated sites in the Gulf. Potential targets may include organizations, businesses, facilities, and infrastructure across the region, such as ports, hotels, roads, energy facilities, and airports.
