The current Powerball jackpot in the UK has reached an impressive £411 million, as announced by lottery officials. This comes shortly after the launch of Powerball in the UK, sparking excitement among UK players during one of the largest rollovers in the game’s history.
If a UK player wins the jackpot, it would set a new record for the biggest lottery win in the country, surpassing the £195 million won by an anonymous EuroMillions ticket-holder in 2022. The upcoming draw on Thursday will mark the 40th consecutive rollover draw, with the longest Powerball jackpot run standing at 47 consecutive draws, leading to a $1.817 billion (£1.336 billion) jackpot won on Christmas Eve last year in Arkansas.
The game has already produced multiple millionaires in the United States in 2026, with five jackpots claimed. UK players now have the opportunity to compete for the colossal top prize, with the largest Powerball jackpot won this year prior to the current run being $250.8 million, also won in Arkansas in March.
According to Andy Carter, Senior Winner’s Advisor at Allwyn, the operator of the National Lottery, the UK’s introduction to Powerball offers players a chance to vie for the £411 million jackpot, one of the largest in Powerball history. Carter emphasized the life-changing potential of such a win, stating that it could have a lasting impact on the winner’s family, ambitions, charitable causes, and community.
The UK version of Powerball, launched in partnership with the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) and tailored for UK players by Allwyn, is priced at £4 per line. Participants can play by selecting five main numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26 or opt for a Lucky Dip. The game also includes additional prize tiers specific to UK players, such as ‘Match 2 main numbers’ offering a fixed £8 prize and ‘Match 5 main numbers’ with a fixed £1 million prize. Other prize tiers provide estimated prizes based on the numbers drawn and winners in each tier.
