Weather forecasts indicate that certain regions of the nation may experience exceptional temperatures of 35C on Tuesday. This development coincides with the UK enduring a prolonged heatwave, with record-breaking May temperatures predicted by the Met Office. Health alerts due to the heat have been disseminated by the UKHSA throughout England.

Recent projections from the UKV weather model suggest that the East of England might reach 35C by 3pm on Tuesday. The model highlights 15 counties where temperatures could hit 33C or higher, including Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and others.

In response to lengthy queues in the heatwave, EU border checks at Dover have been halted. Forecasters anticipate the likelihood of breaking multiple temperature records in the coming days, with some parts of the UK potentially experiencing temperatures surpassing those of the Seychelles.

To alleviate congestion, French authorities have suspended extra EU border checks at Dover under the new entry/exit system (EES). Following the heatwave this weekend, temperatures may plummet to as low as -1C in certain regions of the country.

The GFS weather model indicates a significant drop in temperatures the following Sunday. Temperature anomaly maps suggest areas in deep blue across the UK, signaling regions where temperatures could fall well below the seasonal average.

Additionally, UV levels are expected to be high across most of the UK during the weekend. The public is advised to prepare with suncream, and caution is advised for those in the sea due to persistently low sea temperatures despite the heatwave.

BBC Weather’s forecast for the night anticipates dry and clear conditions in much of the UK, with fog in coastal areas. The Met Office’s forecast for the upcoming days indicates continued hot and dry weather, with temperatures remaining in the low 30s in the southeast.

The Met Office’s morning forecast hints at potential heatwave conditions persisting for six consecutive days. Yesterday saw temperatures exceed 28C, and projections indicate highs of 31C in southern regions today, escalating to 32C tomorrow, 33C on Monday, 32C on Tuesday, and 28C on Wednesday.

A heatwave is officially declared when temperatures surpass the heatwave threshold for three consecutive days, which varies between 28C and 25C across different UK counties. Yesterday already marked the hottest day of the year, with expectations of breaking that record again today.

Animals at London Zoo are being treated to ice lollies to combat the heat, with larger animals enjoying additional showers. London’s temperatures are set to soar to 33C over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Met Office predicts the potential breaking of three different temperature records over the weekend, including the hottest day in May for the UK, Wales specifically, and the hottest Bank Holiday on record.

Beyond the UK, the Canary Islands are also experiencing intense heat, with authorities issuing warnings for maximum temperatures across the archipelago. Inland areas in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote may see temperatures exceeding 37C.

As rain moves in from the Atlantic on May 31, the ECMWF weather model forecasts the heaviest showers hitting western parts of Wales and England, as well as central and southern Scotland initially. The rain is expected to spread eastward across the UK, with showers potentially affecting London by June 1.

The UKV weather model projects the possibility of temperatures reaching a remarkable 35C in the east of England on Tuesday, with a broader area experiencing temperatures of 30C and above, and 15 counties potentially hitting 33C. The Met Office anticipates highs of 33C on Monday and 32C on Tuesday.
