Donald Trump is contemplating the resumption of significant military operations in Iran, as reported by the news website Axios. The US President is reportedly considering a “massive attack” that would surpass previous actions and is nearing a decision on the matter. Trump mentioned that the Iranians expressed interest in negotiations but are not prepared to reach a deal yet, stating that they have not experienced enough pressure.

This development coincides with an increase in the deployment of US military forces to the Middle East, including additional squadrons of fighter jets and Special Forces personnel. Although Trump emphasized the potential for a substantial military strike, no official decisions have been made, and new directives to US armed forces have not been issued.

Simultaneously, the Houthis, an armed group linked to Iran, targeted two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea following their declaration of a blockade on the Bab al Mandeb Strait. These attacks have caused oil prices to surge, with oil prices exceeding $100 per barrel for the first time since May. The Bab al Mandeb Strait serves as a critical chokepoint for oil tankers and commercial ships navigating global trade routes.
