A luxurious new mansion is set to replace the Connecticut home once shared by former President Donald Trump and his first wife, Ivana Trump. The Georgian-style estate, spanning 19,786 square feet on a waterfront peninsula in Greenwich, was purchased by the couple in 1982, shortly after the birth of their second child, Ivanka.
Originally valued at $4 million, the property became part of Ivana’s assets after their divorce in 1992, which followed Trump’s affair with Marla Maples. Ivana eventually sold the house in 1998 for $15 million, and in 2024, it changed hands again for $31.5 million.
The new owners of the estate, known only as 21 Vista Drive LLC, are planning extensive renovations, including an outdoor tennis court, swimming pool, outbuildings, indoor tennis court, and a new main house spanning approximately 17,000 square feet. The redevelopment proposal includes merging three lots into one, demolishing existing structures, and enhancing the beach frontage.
To proceed with the ambitious project exceeding 150,000 cubic feet of construction, the new owners must secure a special permit from the town planning department. The renowned Robert A.M. Stern Architects will oversee the design, known for prestigious projects like Billionaire’s Row in Manhattan and the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas.
The application for the project’s assessment has not yet been scheduled, and the timeline for authorization remains uncertain. Ivana Trump, who tragically passed away in 2022, had shared insights about the property in her 2017 memoir, “Raising Trump,” recounting how she and Trump chose the estate while viewing the town from a helicopter. She was 73 years old at the time of her accidental death, with authorities ruling out any foul play.
