An 18-year-old student tragically lost his life after entering the River Wye during a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition in Wales. Emergency services responded to the incident in Glasbury, Powys, on Tuesday evening following reports that the teenager had entered the water and disappeared.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the student’s body was found after a search involving a mountain rescue team and the fire service. A spokesperson for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expressed deep sadness over the incident, stating that the young person drowned during the expedition in Powys, Wales.
