A tourist named Nickolas Wiegand was taken by surprise when he spotted what he believes to be the famous Loch Ness Monster in his holiday photos taken during a trip to the Scottish Highlands. Despite capturing a significant amount of footage during his tour around the picturesque countryside, it wasn’t until later that he noticed the mysterious creature in one of his photos.
The sighting occurred on May 18 around 10:14 am as Nickolas stopped by the waters of Loch Ness. He recounted that due to time constraints on the tour, he had been focused on his camera’s viewfinder rather than the actual lake itself. It was only after the tour ended that he reviewed his footage and discovered the enigmatic figure in the water behind him.
Upon careful examination of the footage, Nickolas described the object as “mysterious and unknown,” appearing as a dark shape breaking the water’s surface at a considerable distance from the shore. He estimated the size of the object by comparing it to the road signs along the shore, indicating its substantial dimensions.
This recent sighting marks the fifth reported encounter with the Loch Ness Monster this year. Previous sightings include reports from different individuals, such as Holly Palmer and Scott McMillan, Margaret Sunstrum and Joan Sweeney, and Sara Gubicza, all adding to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register for 2026. Despite the skepticism surrounding such sightings, the allure of the legendary creature continues to captivate both locals and tourists alike, adding to the ongoing mystery of Loch Ness.
