Three-time Olympian Michelle Plouffe has made a comeback to professional basketball to join the Canadian team’s four-player lineup for the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series event in Bangkok, Thailand. Alongside her twin sister Katherine Plouffe, Cassandra Brown, and Paige Crozon, the 33-year-old Plouffe is set to compete in the tournament commencing this Saturday.
As the competition in Bangkok marks one of the final opportunities for Canada to accumulate essential qualification points, the team, currently ranked 10th in the women’s series standings, aims to secure a spot in the series final in Shanghai on September 5-6. Only the top seven teams, in addition to the host nation China, will progress to the prestigious final event.
Michelle Plouffe retired on July 28, 2025, to assume the position of Canada Basketball’s 3×3 performance manager. Throughout her career, she has steered Canada to numerous FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series victories, clinched a silver medal at the 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, and achieved a commendable fourth-place finish at the Paris Olympics.
