A tragic incident unfolded in Bentley, where a teenage boy allegedly fatally stabbed his mother and critically injured his 12-year-old sister in a domestic violence-related homicide. The authorities responded to the scene on Mills Street where they discovered the lifeless body of a 35-year-old woman. Meanwhile, the young girl, who had sustained severe injuries, managed to escape to a location about 600 meters away on a busy highway in Cannington and contacted the police.
According to WA Police Detective Acting Inspector Jessica Securo, both the mother and daughter appeared to have suffered stab wounds. The girl reportedly fled the residence on Mills Street after being attacked by her brother. The 16-year-old suspect was apprehended at a residence in Bentley and is currently in police custody.
Inspector Securo emphasized that the incident is being treated as a family violence homicide with no immediate threat to the community. The investigation, led by the homicide squad, is ongoing, and the injured girl is receiving medical care at Perth Children’s Hospital. The authorities are examining the family’s prior interactions with law enforcement to gain insights into the tragic events.
The house remains a secured crime scene as detectives conduct inquiries in the neighborhood, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. As the investigation progresses, no charges have been laid.
