Serena Williams has made a request for a doubles wild card entry at Queen’s Club tournament alongside 19-year-old Canadian player Victoria Mboko. This move marks a potential return to the tennis court for the iconic player, four years after retiring with an impressive record of 23 Grand Slam titles.

Having re-entered the anti-doping testing pool last August and completed the mandatory six-month period, Williams is now eligible to compete. Reports suggest she has applied for a wild card spot in the upcoming Wimbledon warm-up event.

Although Williams currently seems focused on doubles competition, former player Andy Roddick believes she will eventually participate in singles matches at Wimbledon. Roddick sees this Grand Slam as her best chance to reclaim her former success.

In a recent podcast, Roddick expressed his belief that re-entering doping protocols indicates a strong intention to make a comeback. He highlighted Williams’ physical condition and speculated on her performance, especially on the grass courts of Wimbledon.

Roddick also suggested the possibility of Williams playing singles matches before Wimbledon and hinted at a potential partnership with her sister Venus for doubles events. He emphasized the importance of Wimbledon for Williams’ comeback aspirations.

Reflecting on her emotional farewell at the US Open in 2022, Williams shared her mixed feelings about retiring from tennis. Despite her ventures in business and family expansion, she admitted the struggle of deciding to step away from the sport she loves.

As speculation grows about Williams’ return to professional tennis, fans eagerly anticipate her comeback. The tennis community eagerly awaits her potential return to the court, hoping to witness her extraordinary talent once again.
