Amid the ongoing cost of living challenges in the UK, many Brits are being selective when choosing a restaurant for dining out. To ensure their money is well spent, diners are seeking quality experiences when enjoying meals outside.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sample ASK Italian’s new spring menu. ASK Italian has introduced a range of fresh and bold dishes inspired by the Italian culinary tradition. Notable additions include the Truffle Honey Prosciutto Pizza A Mano and a selection of creative cocktails like the Pepperoni Negroni, Hot Honey Margarita, and Cherry Limoncello Meringue Cocktail.
Diners can now enjoy three sides for £12 and receive a complimentary Spritz of their choice each time they dine in May by downloading and signing up for the ASK Perks Rewards App.
For my meal, I started with the Bruschetta Pizzetta, a stone-baked dough topped with pomodoro sauce, slow-roasted tomatoes, rocket, ricotta salata, and balsamic glaze. The combination of flavors was delightful, especially with a touch of chili oil for an added kick.
While waiting for the starter, we were treated to the new Crispy Pepperoni nibbles, which turned out to be surprisingly addictive. For the main course, I opted for the Pollo Roquito pizza, featuring roast chicken breast, Roquito pepper pearls, balsamic red onions, and other delicious toppings on a light and airy dough.
The Sea Bass alla Mediterranea, oven-baked sea bass with slow-roasted tomatoes, black olives, and capers served on a bed of roasted potatoes, mushrooms, and spinach with a buttery white wine sauce, was another standout dish with its well-balanced flavors.
Additionally, the menu offers a variety of side dishes, including Bolognese Bites, Hot Honey Luganica Sausages, and Seasoned Roast Potatoes. Among these, the sausages with smoked chili jelly were a personal favorite.
For dessert, we indulged in the Chocostachio Bomb, a velvety chocolate and pistachio mousse encased in Italian meringue. The dessert was surprisingly light and not overly sweet, making it a perfect ending to the meal.
The drink offerings were equally impressive, with a variety of cocktails and mocktails to choose from. The Hugo Spritz, a refreshing blend of elderflower, Prosecco, soda, and mint, was a particular highlight.
In conclusion, ASK Italian’s new menu delivers innovative and fresh options for the spring and summer seasons. With a great value on sides, tempting cocktails, and quality dishes, ASK Italian stands out among High Street brands for its top-notch Italian cuisine. The service was excellent, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I look forward to returning with friends soon.
