Terrifying video footage has emerged showing what appears to be a Russian drone pursuing a civilian in the streets of Kherson, Ukraine. This incident has led officials in Kyiv to accuse Putin’s regime of intentionally targeting innocent civilians.
The video, not yet independently confirmed, captures a man running among parked vehicles while being chased by the drone. Shortly after, the drone exploded just a few meters away from the victim.
The 52-year-old man survived the attack but sustained injuries from the blast and is currently hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.
Authorities stated, “This is how Russians fight. They deliberately hunt civilians.” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha denounced the event as a war crime, referring to the drone’s operator as a ‘sadist.’
Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine’s Commissioner for Human Rights, highlighted that the footage reveals Russia’s true strategy of targeting and killing innocent people. He emphasized that such actions constitute deliberate terror against civilians and must be legally addressed on an international level.
Kherson, previously occupied by Russians but liberated by Ukrainian forces in 2022, has been a frequent victim of civilian violence orchestrated by Moscow. Drone attacks on civilians in the city have become increasingly common in recent years, with at least 200 civilians hunted and killed by Russian drone pilots since 2024.
Residents have coined the term “Human Safari” to describe the practice, where civilians are targeted randomly, including individuals at bus stops, commuters, children in parks, and even drivers of buses and ambulances. Reports also indicate that Russian drones have injured victims, waited for emergency services to arrive, and then initiated further attacks to harm responders.
