The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have unveiled a never-before-seen image of their newly adopted family pet, introducing their beloved spaniel named Otto for the first time. William and Kate shared the news on social media, commemorating Otto’s first birthday with a heartwarming photo, capturing a joyous moment with cake and party emojis. Otto, the offspring of their spaniel Orla, was one of four puppies born last May and was featured in a social media post for William’s 43rd birthday in June.
Recently, the royal couple delighted fans by sharing a holiday snapshot, celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary. The picture, taken in Cornwall by photographer Matt Porteous, showcased William, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis enjoying a peaceful moment barefoot in the grass during the Easter break, with Orla and Otto making a special appearance.
The Cambridges have had Orla as a cherished pet since 2020, following the unexpected passing of their first dog, Lupo, a cocker spaniel gifted to them by Kate’s brother, James Middleton. Earlier this year, Kate disclosed that the family had kept one of Orla’s puppies, mentioning their young eight-month-old pup alongside Orla, who is five years old.
Orla has accompanied the family to various events, including a polo match in Windsor, and even had a prominent role in William’s episode of the Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy. The Prince of Wales was captured introducing Orla to the Hollywood actor, who showered her with treats while she later rested at William’s feet during a pub visit with Levy.
The timing of Otto’s birthday aligns with a series of personal milestones for William, Kate, and their children. Recently, they celebrated Prince Louis’ eighth birthday with a new photo and video showing him enjoying the beach in Cornwall. Additionally, the couple marked their 15th wedding anniversary with a visit to the education charity IntoUniversity, where they engaged with students, sharing insights into university life and commemorating their royal wedding gift fund’s impact.
As they gear up for their daughter Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday tomorrow, the Cambridges are set to continue their celebrations with a focus on family milestones and shared moments that endear them to the public.
