“Significant railway disruptions” have been reported in Greater Manchester, the Midlands, and the North West of England by National Rail. The disruption is anticipated to persist until the end of the day, according to National Rail. Travel advice from East Midlands Railway includes the exclusion of Macclesfield due to ongoing disruptions. Customers with canceled services can opt to travel on alternative Avanti West Coast services. Off-Peak ticket restrictions have been relaxed, allowing for full refunds for affected passengers.
Northern and TransPennine Express have advised against traveling. Northern customers can utilize their tickets on select services without additional charges, and ticket restrictions in affected areas have been waived. TransPennine Express customers are also permitted to use their tickets without extra cost in both directions.
