Queen Elizabeth II, known for her association with Paddington, will be honored with a limited edition collector’s bear in celebration of what would have been her 100th birthday. Crafted from premium mohair, the Queen Elizabeth II Bear showcases intricate details typical of teddy maker Steiff’s 150-year legacy, featuring a jeweled brooch, an adorned hat, and Steiff’s signature ear tag with a brass button.
This special commemorative bear is part of the festivities marking the late monarch’s 100th birthday on April 21. Priced at £289, the bear is globally available with only 4,996 units produced in total, symbolizing the Queen’s lifespan of 96 years. Each bear is uniquely numbered and comes in a high-quality souvenir bag with a certificate of authenticity. The bear, jointed in five ways for full mobility, boasts fine embroidery on its feet to signify Queen Elizabeth II’s centenary.
Dressed in one of Queen Elizabeth II’s iconic ensembles – a lime green coat with a matching hat worn at one of her final official engagements – the bear is accessorized with a pearl necklace, a crystal brooch, and her distinctive handbag.
Next week, the royal family will lead tributes, with King Charles delivering a recorded address to honor his mother’s life and legacy. King Charles and Queen Camilla, alongside other royal members, will host representatives from various charities and organizations associated with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in her memory.
Additionally, the late Queen has been commemorated with a set of 12 stamps marking her centenary. Royal Mail unveiled eight stamps depicting moments from her life, supplemented by four stamps on a miniature sheet showcasing her lifelong passion for horses and dogs.
Following the upcoming commemorations, King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to embark on a contentious State Visit to the United States, hosted by President Donald Trump. This visit occurs amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East and during a critical phase in the UK-US “special relationship.”
