A plane crash was captured on video as the aircraft collided with the ground and skidded for a considerable distance before erupting into flames. The jet involved in the incident is reported to be a private jet registered in the United States.
Tragically, the crash resulted in the deaths of both crew members on board, as confirmed by aviation authorities and local media in the Dominican Republic. The names of the pilot and copilot have not been disclosed, and there were no passengers on the flight.
The aircraft, identified as a GALX with US registration number N318JF by Dominican aviation officials, was on its way back to La Romana International Airport in southeastern Dominican Republic. Reports indicate that the plane was en route to Austin, Texas, in the U.S. but had to turn back towards the airport after declaring an emergency approximately 16 nautical miles southwest of La Romana.
Footage of the incident shows a white business jet speeding along the ground near the runway, kicking up clouds of dirt and dust as it deviates from its course. The fuselage starts to break apart due to the impact, followed by a sudden fire erupting from the rear of the jet, leading to a larger explosion as the plane disintegrates further.
The video concludes with the wreckage engulfed in flames, emitting a thick, black smoke plume above the airport premises, while emergency vehicles rush to the scene to contain the blaze. The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute and the Aviation Accident Investigation Commission are actively investigating the crash to determine its cause.
