Prince Harry’s popularity has seen an upsurge following a recent YouGov poll that gauged public sentiment towards the Royal Family. The poll, conducted quarterly, indicated a possible shift in perception towards the Duke of Sussex, particularly after his reunion with King Charles, his father.
On July 10, Harry, accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet, visited Highgrove during a five-day trip to the UK. This visit marked a significant occasion as it allowed the monarch to see his grandchildren, who live in California, after a prolonged period apart.
The impact of this meeting on Harry’s standing among the British public became evident in a subsequent poll conducted on July 21-22, showing a rise in his favorability rating from the previous survey held in late April.
The data revealed a positive shift for Harry, with his favorability climbing from 30 percent in the previous poll to 33 percent in the latest survey. Notably, his approval rating has steadily increased by six percent since May 2025. Despite this improvement, 58 percent of respondents still held a negative view of Harry, while nine percent remained undecided.
In other findings from the poll, King Charles received his highest approval rating as monarch to date, with 68 percent of the public expressing satisfaction with his performance. This trend indicates a consistent period of public support for Charles, with his personal favorability rating holding between 59 and 63 percent over the past two years.
The top positions in favorability ratings were retained by the Prince and Princess of Wales, commanding 76 and 74 percent approval respectively, with these figures remaining stable in recent years. Princess Anne secured third place with a 70 percent favorable rating, while Edward and Sophie received approval ratings of 53 and 51 percent respectively.
Conversely, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie faced a setback in public perception, with favorability ratings of 30 and 29 percent respectively. Although they have maintained a low profile in recent months, the July 2026 poll marked their inclusion in the YouGov survey for the first time.
At the lower end of the favorability scale, Meghan Markle received a modest 22 percent approval rating. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor garnered the lowest score, with only two percent of respondents viewing him favorably, while a significant 92 percent held a negative opinion of him.
