The incident occurred at Moorways Sports Village in Allenton, with crews from multiple stations and an Environmental Protection Unit on site.

Authorities evacuated the leisure center as a precaution, and advised drivers to avoid the area due to the ongoing emergency response. Paramedics were assessing the affected individuals, while eyewitnesses described a situation where people began coughing in the changing rooms.

The incident led to road closures and increased traffic in the vicinity, with individuals being wrapped in foil outside the building. Several emergency vehicles, including ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks, were present at the scene, ensuring the safety of those affected.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, along with other emergency services, were actively managing the situation.
