Prince Harry reaffirmed his enduring connection to the Royal Family despite stepping back from his royal duties in 2020 and maintaining a strained relationship with most of his UK-based relatives. The Duke of Sussex is currently in Ukraine to show support for the war-torn nation through a series of engagements.

During his visit, Harry openly addressed recent criticisms suggesting he should not engage in international charity work as a non-working royal. In an interview with ITV News, he defended his decision to continue his activism efforts in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of speaking truth to power without being silenced by critics.

Expressing his commitment to humanitarian causes, Harry emphasized the significance of shedding light on global conflicts. He emphasized that his royal lineage does not hinder his dedication to serving communities in need and fostering relationships with those directly affected by crises.

Despite his affection for his family, Harry remains estranged from his brother and sister-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, following revelations in his memoir that exacerbated tensions between the royal siblings.

During his time in Ukraine, Harry visited the city of Bucha with the Halo Trust charity to witness firsthand the devastation caused by landmines. Drawing parallels to his late mother, Princess Diana’s advocacy work, Harry navigated through a mine-laden area, underscoring the long-term efforts required for clearing such hazardous zones.

Harry commended the innovative technologies employed by Ukrainian forces for mine clearance, including robotic tools like the Spot Robo dog and AI-powered drones operated with remote controls and VR goggles. He stressed the ongoing need for extensive cleanup efforts in areas affected by landmines, projecting the necessity for sustained operations over the coming decades.

In a speech at the Kyiv Security Forum, Harry directly urged President Putin to halt the ongoing conflict, emphasizing the urgent need to prevent further suffering among both Ukrainian and Russian populations. He condemned the reported systematic war crimes and highlighted the harrowing impact on Ukrainian children, denouncing the deliberate targeting of civilians and the grave violations of international law.

By leveraging his platform and experiences, Harry continues to advocate for peace, justice, and humanitarian aid amid global crises, echoing the legacy of his late mother’s unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes.
