Prince William recently shared that his son, Prince George, is just like any other typical teenage boy and feels embarrassed by his parents. The young prince celebrated his 13th birthday last month, marking his official entry into teenage years. He is set to commence his education at the prestigious Eton College, where fees amount to £63,000 per year. In a rare public appearance, the royal family, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow.

During their visit, the family enjoyed watching a netball semi-final at the Hydro arena before visiting the Team Wales base. A heartwarming moment occurred when young Louis was asked to update the medal count board for Wales, proudly displaying their recent gold medals. The children were also invited to witness a tandem cycling event at the velodrome, to which George humorously declined, stating that his parents already embarrass him enough.

The family interacted with Commonwealth Games participants, including twins Abigail and Emily Roper, who both secured bronze medals in gymnastics. Kate Middleton engaged the children in conversations about their own interests, revealing Louis’ attempts at perfecting handstands, albeit receiving feedback from his sister Charlotte. The children were gifted soft toys and Welsh cycling outfits as souvenirs from the event.

In addition to their sports-filled day, the family visited the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, where they met the legendary Olympic cyclist himself. Sir Chris Hoy, who has bravely battled prostate cancer, emphasized the positive impact of exercise in his cancer treatment journey. Kate Middleton, who also faced a cancer diagnosis, shared her experience of undergoing chemotherapy and achieving remission. Both public figures have used their platforms to raise awareness about cancer and the importance of physical well-being in managing the disease.

The royal family concluded their day at the Commonwealth Games with a warm send-off from Sir Chris Hoy. As they departed, Kate Middleton engaged in meaningful conversations with the cyclist, highlighting their shared experiences as cancer survivors. Sir Chris Hoy’s advocacy for exercise as a vital component in his cancer treatment resonates with the ongoing efforts to change perceptions and treatments for advanced cancer stages.
