NATO fighter jets were deployed to intercept and destroy a drone over Latvia following air threat alerts that were issued to a large number of residents. Witnesses in the village of Rogovka reported the fighter jets firing at the drone.
The official Twitter account of Latvia’s National Armed Forces confirmed the successful interception of the drone that breached the country’s airspace. Reports indicated that a warning for airspace threats was issued for the Ludza, Balvi, and Alūksne municipalities around 9:20 am local time.
