A model who went missing while on vacation in Serbia has tragically been discovered dead inside a suitcase.
Lyudmila Turkova, aged 27, vanished for six days after heading out to meet friends at a nightclub in Belgrade.
Her body was found in a suitcase that had been dumped in the Vizelj canal and was noticed by locals who promptly alerted the authorities.
A 25-year-old Turkish man known as K.E. was apprehended at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport as he attempted to leave Serbia and is currently considered the primary suspect in the murder case, as per police reports.
The police dog located Ms. Turkova’s remains in the water, but details regarding the cause of death have not been disclosed by the officers.
A local report mentioned that the body has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Described in a missing persons appeal, Turkova was 5ft 1inch tall with long blonde hair, a nose piercing, and various tattoos including two snakes on her left thigh, a large calligraphic design on her right lower leg, and Japanese-style tattoos on her shoulders.
Hailing from St Petersburg, Russia, Turkova worked as a promoter, bartender, and body-art model.
She had intended to spend two weeks in Belgrade but went missing on July 25, and the last contact with her was made after 11 pm before her phone became unreachable.
