A man was hospitalized following a brutal attack where he was set on fire, as reported by authorities. New South Wales police are currently seeking the individual responsible for igniting a 25-year-old man at a residential complex in Warrawong on Monday, May 11.

Emergency services responded to a unit on Todd Street in Warrawong, located 90km south of Sydney, at 9pm. Upon entering the property, they discovered the victim with severe burns on his face, chest, neck, and arms. The man had been soaked in a flammable substance prior to the attack, resulting in significant burns covering 50% of his body.

A medical helicopter team arrived on the scene to provide immediate care to the victim, while local residents assisted paramedics. Subsequently, he was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in critical condition.

The latest update from the hospital indicates that the man’s condition has improved to serious but stable. NSW Police have classified the incident as a targeted assault, noting frequent police visits to the complex.
