A man has been taken into custody under suspicion of murder after a woman was found deceased in Merseyside. The North West Ambulance Service contacted the police around 2.55 am today, reporting the discovery of a woman in her thirties who had passed away at a residence in Brook Cottage Close, St Helens.
Upon arrival at the scene, a 63-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder and is now undergoing questioning while in police custody. Authorities are actively investigating to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to officially identify the deceased woman.
As the investigation progresses, the case is being treated as unexpected. Merseyside Police is encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward either by contacting @MerPolCC or calling 101, referencing case number 26000410495, according to the Liverpool Echo.
