Two individuals, a man, and a teenage boy face charges of attempted murder following a serious incident in a Northumberland town. The event occurred when two women in their 30s were hit by a vehicle on Keelmans Terrace in Blyth early Friday morning. One woman suffered severe injuries and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital, while the other sustained minor injuries.
Corey Charters, 20, and a 17-year-old boy, whose identity is protected by legal restrictions, were accused of attempted murder in relation to the incident near the Beaumont Street junction. The vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene and was later discovered burnt out in Cramlington.
Law enforcement authorities arrested three individuals as part of the investigation. While Charters and the teenager were charged, a 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the case has been released on bail. Charters, who is homeless, faces additional charges for driving without a valid license and insurance. Both Charters and the teenage boy are scheduled to appear before North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
