The individuals sought for questioning are Cavalli Harriott, 22, and Jayqwan Stevens-Burke, 23.

According to the Metropolitan Police, Harriott is a resident of Hackney, while Stevens-Burke is known to frequent Hackney and Grays, Essex. Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, heading the probe, stated, “We are actively pursuing leads to reconstruct the events of that day.”

Appealing to the public for assistance, Whellams urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of Harriott or Stevens-Burke to contact the authorities. Responding to a stabbing report near Hackney Downs around 1.40 pm on Monday, officers found Mr. Seriki, in his late 20s, who succumbed to his injuries despite immediate medical attention from paramedics at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made as yet. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command emphasized the active pursuit of the perpetrators and urged the public to share any relevant details.

Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke, overseeing policing in the area, reassured residents that the incident, although troubling, is considered isolated and not linked to the school nearby. The community will be kept informed as the investigation progresses.
