A search has been initiated following the abduction of an infant from a hospital ward. The baby, a seven-day-old boy, was taken from the neonatal unit of a hospital in Germany. Authorities report that the child was taken from the Lüdenscheid hospital in North Rhine-Westphalia by a woman who pretended to be a nurse.
The suspect, described as a woman in her mid-20s to early 30s with blonde hair, was wearing a light blue coat and large glasses. She entered a patient’s room at the hospital around 3:15 pm and took the baby under the guise of conducting an examination.
Approximately an hour later, at 4:10 pm, the infant was discovered naked in a stairwell near a parking lot ticket machine. The child was swiftly returned to the hospital via ambulance and is reported to be in good condition.
The incident occurred at the Sterncenter parking garage, which is located about an eight-minute drive from the hospital. Following the discovery of the baby, a significant police operation was launched. Authorities are puzzled about the motive behind the abduction as family members claim they did not recognize the woman who posed as a nurse.
Law enforcement has initiated a search for the woman, utilizing CCTV footage and a sniffer dog in their investigative efforts. Descriptions provided by the police characterize the woman as blonde, very slim, standing around 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wearing her hair in a braid.
