A residence involved in the fatal Russian Novichok poisoning incident is now up for sale at a price of £114,000.
Former intelligence operative Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia fell victim to the nerve agent attack in March 2018 after the substance was applied to the door handle of their Salisbury home. They were discovered unconscious on a bench, hospitalized in critical condition, and later released with new identities.
Subsequently, Dawn Sturgess, aged 44, passed away four months later after being given a perfume bottle containing the poison as a gift, unknowingly, by her partner. Investigative reports from MI5, MI6, GCHQ, and Counter Terrorism Policing strongly indicated Russian military intelligence as the perpetrators, though the Kremlin has consistently denied any involvement.
Presently, the Skripals’ former three-bedroom house is listed on Rightmove as a contemporary family residence situated in a convenient yet secluded residential location.
According to Carter & May, the property features a newly renovated kitchen, solar panels, parking for three vehicles, a spacious back garden, and proximity to schools and transportation hubs.
The description states, “The lower level offers a welcoming entrance leading to a sizable reception room with designated sitting and dining areas, a modern kitchen with stylish cabinetry and room for various appliances, a functional utility room, and a convenient cloakroom.
“Upstairs, there are three well-proportioned bedrooms served by a family bathroom. The layout allows for flexible configurations, easily adaptable to suit the preferences of potential buyers.”
A note in the listing alerts potential buyers that the property “was implicated in the Novichok incident of 2018.”
After the attack, the house underwent a significant decontamination process, one of the largest in peacetime Britain, before being declared safe for residential use.
Following decontamination, other occupants have resided in the property, and recent enhancements have been made, as stated by the estate agent’s listing.
