A young woman has confessed to having control over a dangerously aggressive XL bully dog that fatally attacked a teenager. Kelcie Reed, aged 24, admitted guilt in overseeing the out-of-control dog named Prince, which caused fatal injuries to 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett in a flat at Cobhorn Drive, Withywood, Bristol, on February 26 last year.

Emergency responders were summoned to the scene at 7:19 pm, but despite their efforts, Morgan tragically succumbed to her injuries. The victim, hailing from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, suffered fatal neck bites during the tragic incident.

Subsequently, the dog was euthanized. Reed, residing on Barrowmead Road, Lawrence Weston, Bristol, only spoke to confirm her guilty plea. She was granted conditional bail until her sentencing scheduled for July 9.

Previously, Ms. Dorsett’s former school principal paid tribute, praising her as a compassionate and considerate individual. Pete Lowe-Werrell, the head teacher at Mary Webb School in Pontesbury near Shrewsbury, expressed condolences, highlighting Morgan’s kindness and promising future.

In a GoFundMe campaign for the bereaved family last year, a message hailed Morgan as a beautiful, strong, and vibrant person, emphasizing the profound impact of her untimely demise on the community.

Detective Sergeant Rich Glanville from Avon and Somerset Police remarked on the importance of Reed’s court appearance in connection with Morgan’s tragic death, reassuring ongoing support to the victim’s family throughout the investigation.
