“Fatal Shooting Outside Sheffield Bar: Three Arrested”

Three individuals have been apprehended following the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old woman outside a bar in Sheffield city center. According to South Yorkshire Police, the authorities received a call around 2:45 am today reporting a shooting outside the One Four One Bar. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence indicative of gunfire and subsequently arrested two men and a woman in connection with the incident.

One man and the woman were taken into custody near Stockport in Greater Manchester early on Monday, while the second man was detained in Sheffield. They are currently being held for interrogation. Police have initiated a murder investigation in response to the incident, although formal identification of the victim is pending, her family has been notified.

Assistant Chief Constable Colin McFarlane expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event that led to the young woman’s death during a night out on the bank holiday weekend in Sheffield. He emphasized the focus on supporting the victim’s family and those close to her. The Major Crime Team is spearheading the investigation, and three individuals have been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the ongoing inquiries.

McFarlane urged witnesses in the vicinity of West Street and Eldon Street at the time of the incident to come forward with any information they may possess, either directly to the police or anonymously through Crimestoppers. The closure of West Street, where the bar is situated, between Mappin Street and Westfield Terrace has been reported, along with the closure of Eldon Street, Westhill Lane, and part of Orange Street. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Transport services, including trams and buses entering the city, have been impacted, with tram operations halted between Cathedral and Middlewood or Malin Bridge until further notice. Supertram announced ticket acceptance agreements with First and Stagecoach within the affected area.
