A family is honoring a beloved infant who tragically passed away after an apparent dog attack. The baby girl, Maggie-May Ann Moody, lost her life at just 13 weeks old in an incident at a residence in Hardale Grove, Dormanstown, on April 9.

In a heartfelt tribute published in The Gazette, Maggie-May’s family described her as a delightful child who brightened even the darkest days. They expressed how Maggie-May, though her time was brief, filled every moment with love, personality, and her unique charm. The family highlighted her perfect nature, noting her assertiveness in expressing preferences and her ability to bring joy and warmth to those around her.

The family expressed deep love and cherished memories of Maggie-May, emphasizing the immense void her absence has left in their lives. Despite the loss of a future with her, they vowed to keep her memory alive through the love and smiles she brought to their family.

Maggie-May’s funeral is scheduled for Friday, May 1, at St Peter’s Church, Redcar, at 12 noon, followed by a private burial for family members only. The family has requested attendees to avoid dark attire and instead wear a touch of pink. They have also asked for family flowers only, with donations to be made to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Baby Unit.

At the recent inquest held at Teesside Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that Maggie-May passed away at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, just a day before she would have turned three months old. Following the incident, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being responsible for a dog that caused fatal injuries. Subsequently, two additional arrests were made, including a 31-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both on charges related to the tragic event. All individuals have been released on conditional bail.

It was clarified that none of the individuals arrested have any association with Maggie-May’s family.
