Families in London gathered at Trafalgar Square to celebrate Eid in a joyful event that welcomed individuals from diverse backgrounds and faiths.
The occasion, coordinated by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, featured musical acts such as Danish rapper Isam B, the London Arab orchestra, and British musician Khaled Sadiq.
During the 20th installment of the event commemorating the conclusion of Ramadan, Mayor Khan emphasized inclusivity by stating, “All, regardless of faith, race, or background are welcome.”
Attendees adorned in vibrant attire enjoyed the festivities in the iconic square with the backdrop of Nelson’s Column. The event showcased food vendors, art displays, and an exhibition by a Muslim girls’ fencing team.
Deputy Mayor of London, Debbie Weekes-Bernard, addressed instances of Islamophobia observed at a recent rally, underscoring that such sentiments do not align with the values of London.
