During a candid moment, the 19-year-old confided in his girlfriend, Faith Millar, revealing that he had contemplated giving up due to the challenging circumstances he encountered earlier in the competition. Littler expressed, “After Brighton and the incident in Manchester, I was sat at home saying to Faith: ‘I don’t want to do it anymore, just the crowd every week’. I said to her: ‘I’m down bad’.”
Throughout the 17-week tournament, Littler faced jeers from the audience, particularly following a confrontation with Gian van Veen in Manchester. This negative reception visibly impacted him, prompting Humphries, his opponent, to appeal to fans to desist from booing.
