A 20-year-old man is currently in critical condition in a hospital following a severe quad bike accident while on a vacation with friends in Greece.
Bradley Belhomme, hailing from Salford, sustained severe head injuries after colliding with a coach in Zante last week. He was riding a rented quad bike with a friend when the accident occurred, resulting in both of them being hospitalized. Bradley is now in a coma in intensive care after being transferred to a hospital in Attica, Athens, according to his family.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Bradley’s mother, Leanne Rabbetts, expressed her shock at the incident, mentioning that he had been on a holiday with friends and everything seemed fine until the accident. She flew out immediately upon hearing the news and has been by his side daily. Doctors attempted to bring him out of the coma but faced challenges as Bradley did not respond well.
Bradley’s family is unsure about his travel insurance status and have sought assistance from the British Embassy. Fundraising efforts, including a GoFundMe page, have been initiated to cover his medical expenses. Bradley’s uncle, Adam, highlighted the uncertainty surrounding his recovery timeline and emphasized the community’s support in this difficult time.
The family is eagerly awaiting further medical assessments to determine the extent of Bradley’s injuries and plan for his eventual return home. Despite the challenges posed by the language barrier and strict visitation protocols in the hospital, they remain hopeful for Bradley’s recovery and appreciate the outpouring of support from friends and well-wishers.
