A tragic incident occurred at a luxurious resort in Egypt where a British baby passed away, and two other children faced severe health issues. The one-year-old, Ariella Mann, contracted E. coli during her holiday, leading to a rare kidney condition called Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome (HUS) that resulted in her untimely death. Seeking answers, Ariella’s parents have sought legal assistance to uncover the cause of their daughter’s health problems.

Accompanied by her parents and sister, Ariella embarked on a holiday to Egypt in December. Unfortunately, she fell ill during the second week of their stay, exhibiting symptoms like fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, and dehydration. Despite receiving medical care at the resort, her condition deteriorated, prompting an early return home. Ariella was subsequently hospitalized and placed in a coma, but the severe kidney condition ultimately claimed her life.

In a similar vein, two-year-old Chloe Crook from Kent and six-year-old Arthur Broughton from Derbyshire also suffered from HUS after staying at the same resort between July 2024 and January 2026. While Chloe experienced temporary blindness and speech loss, Arthur battled kidney issues, needing extensive medical care and rehabilitation post-hospital discharge.

The families’ legal representative emphasized the concerning pattern of incidents at the resort, vowing to support the affected families and seek the necessary answers and specialized care they require. TUI, the tour operator involved, expressed deep condolences for Ariella’s loss and acknowledged the serious illnesses experienced by the other children, promising full cooperation in the ongoing investigations.

As investigations continue, TUI encourages any guests with health concerns during or after their holiday to seek medical advice and reach out to their customer support team for assistance. The focus remains on understanding the causes behind these distressing episodes and providing support to the affected families during this challenging period.
