A young boy is recuperating at his residence following an attack by a wandering cow while he was playing outdoors. The unsettling event occurred on Friday, June 19, capturing the boy’s distress on video footage. The cow pursued the child, knocking him down and causing him to cry out in fear. The animal aggressively jabbed at the boy with its horns, sending his footwear flying.
Fortunately, nearby residents heard his cries and rushed to his aid. One individual grabbed a discarded shoe, striking it against the ground to deter the cow. He then lifted the child and, with the help of others, fled as the cow, accompanied by another cow, chased them down a narrow alleyway. Despite stumbling, the rescuer shielded the boy from further harm as the cow attempted another attack. Another man intervened and successfully drove the animals away.
The incident unfolded in the Tughlakabad area of New Delhi, India, on June 19, as reported by NeedToKnow. Authorities subsequently captured both cows and transported them to a goshala, a shelter for stray cows, in Delhi’s Rewla Khanpur region.
A spokesperson informed local media, stating, “The child sustained injuries during the incident and is now recovering.” Local officials expressed concern over the increasing population of stray cattle due to numerous illicit dairy farms in operation. They have promised to take action against the implicated businesses and cattle owners who allow their animals to roam freely on public thoroughfares.
