Recent social media videos shared by the campaign of U.S. President Donald Trump and the White House featured several Taylor Swift songs. However, some of these videos have now been edited to remove Swift’s music. Both the White House and a representative for Swift have not provided any comments on this matter.

Although Swift has not directly addressed Trump lately, she did endorse his Democratic opponent, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, during the 2024 election. In 2020, Swift expressed her disapproval of Trump as president on social media.

Trump, on the other hand, has publicly criticized Swift multiple times, particularly after she endorsed Harris. He has made derogatory comments about her on social media platforms. This situation mirrors similar instances where other artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have requested the Trump administration not to use their songs.

TikTok Videos Feature Swift’s Songs

Over the past week, the Trump campaign shared TikTok videos including two of Taylor Swift’s songs. These videos referenced Swift’s popular tracks, with one caption even mentioning a version related to Trump.

One video posted by Trump’s campaign in June showcased Swift’s new song from the fictitious movie “Toy Story 5,” along with a caption praising President Trump’s love for the country and its people. This was not the first time the Trump administration had used Swift’s music in their promotional content.

In April, the White House used another of Swift’s songs, “High Infidelity,” in a video showcasing a meeting between Trump and the Artemis II crew. Moreover, a TikTok video shared in November featured a track from Swift’s album “The Life of a Showgirl,” incorporating various imagery related to the U.S. and Trump.
