In a shocking incident captured on video, a group of masked individuals drove their car into a motorway service station, targeting an ATM and slot machines. The footage, recorded by passerby Rupon Miah, shows a black Nissan Juke reversing down the concourse of Wetherby Services in North Yorkshire in the early hours of July 29.
The criminals caused visible damage to the ATM as they exited the car wearing balaclavas. They proceeded to access the slot machine area within the services. Rupon, who witnessed the scene, described how the men rammed the ATM with their car and then raided the slot machines.
After looting the machines, the culprits were seen driving away with the ATM loaded in the boot of their car. North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with no arrests made yet. The police are appealing for witnesses and information regarding the theft at Wetherby Services.
The suspects, dressed in face coverings and gloves, used the vehicle to steal a cash pay-out machine before setting the car on fire in the Leeds area. Investigators are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the Nissan Juke between Wetherby and Leeds during the early hours. They are particularly interested in speaking with three potential witnesses who could assist in the investigation.
