A social media personality encountered a dangerous situation when trying to rescue her dog from a swift river during a vacation. Cass Aragón narrowly avoided a potentially fatal plunge over a 140ft waterfall by getting caught on a rock with her swimsuit. The scary incident unfolded shortly after she arrived at a picturesque camping spot with her friends.
Her canine companion, Chabelo, spontaneously entered the water for a swim and got carried away by the fast-flowing current. Despite her efforts to save him, Cass was also swept away by the powerful water force. Fortunately, Chabelo managed to find safety while Cass struggled in the turbulent water, describing the experience as being tossed around like a “rag doll” in a chaotic manner.
The near-tragedy occurred at the Pulhapanzak waterfalls in Peña Blanca, northern Honduras. Chabelo’s frantic barking caught the attention of a zip-line guide, who spotted Cass’s predicament and promptly raised the alarm. Local individuals braved the thick vegetation to rescue Cass, who hails from Puerto Vallarta in Mexico and expressed immense gratitude towards her rescuers.
Suffering from three broken ribs, head injuries, and various cuts and bruises, Cass was swiftly taken to a local clinic for urgent medical attention. She praised the expertise and compassion of Dr. Yonari Velázquez, who tended to her injuries. The severity of her condition necessitates her return to Mexico for a full recovery.
Despite the harrowing experience, Cass, who was en route to Panama in her pink Volkswagen camper van, holds no resentment.
