Primark has initiated a new campaign by reducing prices on numerous popular items. Among the discounted products are cotton-rich jeans priced at £9, pure-cotton pyjamas starting from £7, and viral boyfriend PJs for women and kids now available at £13 and £8 respectively. The discounts extend to children’s clothing as well, with tops and bottoms priced at £2 each.

The revised pricing is now in effect for new collections in stores, including the upcoming autumn/winter line. Primark has not only lowered prices but also enhanced the quality, fit, and style of its ranges, making it easier for customers to spot discounted items through improved in-store signage.

Matt Houston, Chief Customer Officer at Primark, emphasized the brand’s commitment to offering exceptional value in fashion without compromising on style or quality. Following a modest 1% increase in UK sales and flat like-for-like growth, Primark attributed fluctuations in performance to factors like the Middle East conflict’s impact on consumer sentiment and unpredictable weather conditions. However, improved weather in June led to stronger trading results.

Associated British Foods (ABF), Primark’s parent company, announced plans to separate the Primark retail business by the end of 2027, with both entities set to be listed on the FTSE 100 post-split. Wittington Investments, owned by the Weston family, will retain majority stakes in both businesses. The separation is expected to incur around £75 million in one-off costs, with anticipated synergy losses of under £45 million post-transaction.

ABF’s chief executive, Mr. Weston, highlighted the strategic importance of the split in unlocking growth opportunities for both the food business and Primark. The move aims to enhance governance structures to maximize Primark’s brand potential and expand into new markets.
