Six years ago today, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Windsor. The wedding, reduced in scale due to Covid restrictions, occurred on July 17, 2020, at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, with only 20 guests present.
Among the attendees were Beatrice’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, along with the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Beatrice honored her grandmother by wearing a dress previously worn by the late Queen during the 1960s.
Since their marriage, Beatrice and Edoardo, a wealthy property developer and descendant of Italian nobility, have encountered challenges, particularly as Beatrice’s parents faced scrutiny over their connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Despite this, they have remained resilient, as noted by former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond.
Jennie highlighted the couple’s strength, especially given the difficulties surrounding their wedding and subsequent family issues. Recently, Beatrice and Edoardo were seen happily attending the wedding of Beatrice’s cousin Peter Phillips.
Acknowledging the strain on their relationship, Jennie mentioned that their anniversary celebrations might differ this year due to their busy schedules and ongoing controversies involving Andrew and Fergie. However, she expressed optimism that they would find time to commemorate this milestone with their children and possibly Edoardo’s son.
