The Royal Family has joyfully welcomed a new member as a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth and King Charles has announced the birth of her first child. Flora Vesterberg and her spouse, Swedish financier Timothy Vesterberg, shared on Instagram that their baby daughter was born safely on the morning of July 8.
Flora, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin Princess Alexandra, delightedly revealed the news with a photo of the newborn peacefully sleeping in a crib, dressed in a white outfit and bonnet, and disclosed that the baby girl is named Isabel Marina.
In her caption, Flora expressed her and Timothy’s happiness and love for their daughter, Isabel Marina, born on July 8. She explained that the name signifies both a blessing and her paternal great-grandmother, with a connection to the sea where they find peace in Scotland and Sweden.
Isabel is the first great-grandchild of 89-year-old Princess Alexandra and is set to be in line for the British throne. Flora, following her father James and brother Alexander Ogilvy in the line of succession, currently holds the 61st spot, with Isabel now at 62nd in line.
Flora initially shared her pregnancy news on Instagram in January, expressing her excitement about expecting their first child with Timothy. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2020 due to Covid restrictions and later had a church blessing in 2021 at St. James’s Palace in London.
Among the attendees at the blessing were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Amelia Windsor, Lord Freddie Windsor, and Sophie Winkleman. Flora is occasionally seen at royal gatherings, such as Trooping the Colour and family weddings.
