A former detective has shared how he unraveled Tracie Andrews’ deceit as the story of the road rage murderer unfolded. Ian Johnston arrived at the scene shortly after the incident involving Andrews, who was discovered alongside her fiancé Lee Harvey, who had been fatally stabbed multiple times in December 1996. Andrews had initially blamed the attack on a non-existent man, fabricating a story about being pursued by a menacing stranger.
Despite appearing on television with apparent injuries and seeking public assistance in capturing the alleged killer, Andrews’ lies were exposed by Johnston. The truth emerged that she had actually used a penknife to fatally wound her fiancé during a dispute.
In anticipation of a new Channel 5 drama titled “Suspect: The Road Rage Killer,” featuring Emma Rigby, Johnston, a former Detective Superintendent from West Mercia Police, reflected on his suspicions regarding Andrews’ involvement in the crime.
