The mother of a popular British social media influencer facing allegations of murdering her partner in Dubai revealed that her daughter appeared distressed during a phone call just before the tragic event. Brooke George, a 23-year-old TikToker from Gravesend, Kent, is currently charged with the killing of her 26-year-old British boyfriend, Bill Treeby. She asserts that she resorted to using a kitchen knife in self-defense after enduring abuse from her partner during their visits to the UAE.
In a statement, her mother Thereza George expressed concern, noting a noticeable change in Brooke’s demeanor leading up to the incident. According to her, Brooke seemed subdued and uncharacteristically quiet the day before the tragic event, signaling potential issues in the relationship. Recalling their last conversation, she described Brooke as extremely frightened, with visible signs of physical distress.
Following revelations that Treeby had previously been convicted of assault, concerns were raised by Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, suggesting Brooke might have been manipulated into visiting Dubai for exploitation purposes. Reports of suspicious behavior and alleged incidents of passport withholding added to the growing unease among close friends and family. Urging UAE authorities to investigate claims of domestic abuse, Stirling emphasized the need to scrutinize electronic evidence linked to the case for potential signs of exploitation.
Amidst these developments, a spokesperson from the Foreign Office confirmed their engagement with the detained British woman, offering support to her family while maintaining communication with local authorities.
