A graduate from Nottingham Trent University has tragically been confirmed deceased almost a week after disappearing during a run in Peru.

Jordan Maginley, aged 29, was last captured on CCTV running along the Malecón de Miraflores, a scenic six-mile boardwalk in Lima, the capital of Peru, on June 14.

Originally from Peru, Maginley completed a four-year quantity surveying program at Nottingham Trent University from 2016 to 2020. He was employed as a senior quantity surveyor at Gleeds, a construction consultancy that established an office in Lima in 2020.

Local reports indicate that Maginley encountered a medical emergency while running and was rushed to a hospital. Due to a lack of identification, he was admitted as an unidentified patient and was not connected to the missing persons case initially.

After document verification and collaboration with diplomatic authorities, Maginley was identified on June 20. His disappearance had sparked a search appeal when he did not return from his run, with CCTV footage capturing him along the coastal path before he went missing.

The circumstances surrounding Maginley’s passing are currently under investigation.
