A man has been arrested on charges of attempted murder following an incident where a vehicle hit several pedestrians outside a bustling shopping center in West London. The suspect, Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, reportedly fled the scene at Ealing Broadway on Saturday afternoon, causing injuries to five individuals, three of whom were hospitalized.

Authorities from Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London initially investigated the matter, clarifying that it is not linked to any terrorist activities. The Metropolitan Police announced on Sunday that Mohamed, who hails from Somalia and resides in Grange Park, Ealing, faces charges including five counts of attempted murder, dangerous driving, failure to stop, refusal to provide a breath sample for analysis, and criminal damage.

Mohamed is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Fortunately, none of the injuries sustained were deemed life-threatening or life-altering, with the two individuals who did not require hospitalization receiving on-site medical attention.

According to a spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service, multiple medical resources were dispatched to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in rapid response vehicles, an emergency responder team, and an incident response officer. Additionally, London’s Air Ambulance was also sent to assist. Three patients were treated at the location, with one being transported to a major trauma center as a priority, while the other two were taken to a nearby hospital.
