Emma Raducanu has made the difficult decision to withdraw from Wimbledon this year due to a stress fracture in her leg. Despite hoping to compete in the tournament, she confirmed on the eve of the championships that she would not be able to participate.
In an Instagram post, Raducanu expressed her disappointment, stating that she had pushed herself to the limit but a final scan revealed the injury had worsened into a stress fracture. She acknowledged the support she had received and expressed her eagerness to return to the court in the future.
As the 30th seed, Raducanu was set to play Antonia Ruzic in her Wimbledon opener on Court 1. This setback comes after a strong performance at Queen’s Club, where she reached the final but was defeated by Donna Vekic.
While her recent form seemed promising for Wimbledon, Raducanu will now have to miss her home Grand Slam event. Wimbledon 2026 tickets are already available for purchase, including VIP access.
