A teenager hailed for his quick actions rescued two men who had fallen from an inflatable toy off the coast of Isle of Skye. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) commended the teen for his bravery. Volunteers from Kyle of Lochalsh were dispatched to Broadford Bay following reports of the men in distress. However, before the RNLI crew arrived, a 16-year-old spotted the situation, took his own boat, and brought the men safely back to shore. The RNLI team confirmed no injuries and departed the scene. Andrew MacDonald, helm at Kyle RNLI, praised the teen’s swift response, emphasizing the importance of using inflatable toys only in safe environments like swimming pools. MacDonald also reminded the public to wear life jackets and have means of communication in case of emergencies in open waters.
