Aldi is gearing up to launch 16 new stores in the near future and has disclosed the complete list of locations. The affordable grocery chain will be expanding to various areas, including Watford and Hoxton in London, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, and Balsall Common in the West Midlands.
Currently operating over 1,080 stores nationwide, Aldi aims to reach 1,500 branches in the long run. The recent store openings are part of Aldi’s significant £370 million investment in new stores for the year 2026.
Jonathan Neale, the Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, emphasized the brand’s commitment to providing high-quality, cost-effective food for all by expanding the store network throughout the UK. The substantial investment in new stores is intended to extend Aldi’s value to more communities, bolstering local economies and offering competitive pay to employees.
In a recent announcement, Aldi also outlined plans to enhance 25 stores across the UK this summer. Upgrades will include increased shopping space and sustainable features like energy-efficient fridge doors. Additionally, improvements to the bakery, health and beauty, and fresh food sections will be made at select locations, tailored to each store’s needs.
Mr. Neale highlighted the ongoing investments in store enhancements to enhance the shopping experience for customers, create more convenience and efficiency for both shoppers and staff, and align with sustainability goals.
Moreover, Aldi has rolled out a fresh round of price reductions on over 200 products, covering everyday essentials from fresh and frozen foods to household items and personal care products. With an investment exceeding £200 million in price cuts this year, including £60 million in recent reductions, Aldi continues to prioritize affordability for its customers.
While Aldi offers substantial discounts, consumers are advised to compare prices across various retailers to ensure they are getting the best deals. Just because an item is on sale at Aldi does not guarantee it is the cheapest option available elsewhere.
