A tragic incident unfolded when a bungee jumper, Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, was thrown from a 130ft high bridge in Limeira, Sao Paulo state, Brazil. Shockingly, the staff forgot to attach her to a safety rope before the jump, leading to her fatal fall.

Despite the lack of a safety harness, Maria miraculously survived the initial impact. A nurse, Rayza Dias, who rushed to help her, revealed that Maria was still breathing and had a faint pulse. In a touching moment, Rayza reassured Maria, calling her by her nickname, Duda, and promising to save her life.

Following the incident, the workers responsible for the jump attempted to flee the scene but were quickly apprehended thanks to a helicopter search. Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, Vitor de Freitas Goncalves, and Maicon Fernandes Cintra were charged with homicide with implied malice. The suspects claimed confusion over who was in charge of securing the rope.

The arrested workers, including Luis Felipe, who mentioned earning £26 per jump, expressed shock over the incident, citing a lack of prior problems during their years of experience. Meanwhile, investigations revealed that the company conducting the jumps lacked proper authorization for the activity.

The tragic turn of events has sparked an ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to Maria’s fatal fall.
